Semi-trailers: for larger transports

A semi-trailer is slightly different from a trailer or a turntable trailer. This involves coupling the trailer to a special point above the rear axle of the towing car, instead of on the tow bar (see the image from this post). This means that the car has been converted into a semi-trailer tractor, which are mainly pick-ups at Fifthwheel Europe. The semi-trailer can have a low or high neck, depending on the connection above the rear axle of the car. Fifthwheel Europe is known for its high neck trailers, which are specially designed for use with pick-ups. A semi-trailer in the O2 category may have a weight of up to 3,500 kg on the axles, including the loading capacity of the rear axle of the towing vehicle. For example: a total gross weight of 3,500 kg + 1,000 kg.

Semi-trailers are also available in different designs, such as low loaders, flatbed wagons or specials. One of the many advantages of semi-trailers is the smooth driving behavior, this is due to the weight of the semi-trailer pressing on the rear axle of the car.
